Starting up business

Do’s and Dont’s When Starting Up In Business

Start ups operate differently from companies that have been around for decades. They are more fragile and require more blood, sweat and tears. How they operate from the start can make or break the company so we have put together an e-book for inspiration.

Click on the button at the bottom of this blog post to view the e-book for a full list of Do’s and Dont’s, here are just a few examples from the e-book:

Be Passionate

It probably won’t happen overnight, so do something you feel passionate about. Do not start something solely to make a pot of gold, you’ll probably fail. Craft a mission statement and be obsessed with it.

Start With Something You Understand

If you go into a business you know little or nothing about, you have made things much harder from the start; make a comparative analysis of all opportunities you are considering. You can then develop your USP giving buyers a logical reason to purchase from you over other brands.

Keep At It

Successful enterprises usually turn out differently from what is described in their original business plan. If you feel it’s not working one way, try another, just don’t give up too early, persistence is a vital quality needed from the outset.

Find a Mentor

Talk to lots of people in your business for advice, but keep one person you trust for support, and to help keep the wool from your eyes. First timers often slip up because they don’t have a more experienced friend from whom they can learn from and turn to for a quick bit of savvy.
