Well-managed and efficiently structured office supplies companies will rise out of the Covid crisis, but we have some significant headwinds in the short term.

At the moment it’s very difficult to anticipate what is going to happen next. Government restrictions fluctuate and successful businesses need to take a long-term view to invest in people, technology, stock and so on. If you don’t know whether your business is going to be able to sell to its core market from one day to the next, it’s very difficult to make long term plans.

Some economists are predicting a roaring twenties style boom, as pent-up households seeking pleasure and leisure will use unspent income to make the most of loosening restrictions over the summer.

We are a long way from that right now, however the AZ vaccine and Brexit trade deal mean there are some reasons to be optimistic.
