The Climb of Life: Scaling Heights for a Greater Cause
The Office Power team has once again reached incredible heights by completing the Climb of Life 2024 in the Lake District!
This challenging event took place on 15th November and marked the 37th year of the Climb of Life, as well as the Office Power team’s 8th year of dedicated support for the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR).
A Mission Close to the Heart
Cancer affects 1 in 2 people, making the work of the ICR essential in fighting this disease. The Climb of Life event brings together passionate individuals to push their limits in one of the UK’s toughest terrains, all to fund ICR’s pioneering cancer research.
Richard Sinclair, our Co-CEO said “This year, the team took on the breathtaking—but gruelling—challenge of Base Brown, Green Gable, Great Gable, and Seathwaite Fell. The first three miles delivered a relentless uphill climb, and the journey ended with a demanding technical descent.” The team battled rain, wind and cold temperatures in one of the UK’s wettest regions, and their endurance was truly tested.
These determined climbers faced the elements head-on, driven by a shared commitment to the cause. Their effort is a testament to what can be achieved when teams unite for something bigger than themselves.
A Remarkable Achievement
This year, Team Office Power has already raised an impressive £4,000 for ICR—and donations are still coming in! The event as a whole raised just over £90,000 and achieved the goal of raising over £2,000,000 since the event was started. Every penny raised goes directly to support the fight against cancer, funding crucial research that saves lives. The Climb of Life is more than just a physical challenge. It’s a symbol of hope and resilience for everyone affected by cancer.
